Before you book a treatment
No exosome product is FDA-approved for any use. In December 2019 the FDA issued a public safety notification after multiple reports of serious adverse events in patients in Nebraska who were treated with unapproved products marketed as containing exosomes.
In the United States, a product that is not approved can lawfully be given inside a clinical trial run under FDA oversight. A registered trial has an NCT number you can look up at ClinicalTrials.gov.
Questions to ask any clinic
- What is the product's name, and which company makes it? Is it in the products table?
- What was it made from: fat, placenta, umbilical cord, bone marrow, platelets, or plants?
- Will it be put on the skin, injected, inhaled, or given by IV?
- Is this treatment part of a registered clinical trial? If so, what is the NCT number?
- Which published study supports using it for my condition, and was that study done with the same product?
